Don't Let the Sun's Glare Become a Driving Hazard

It's happened to all of us. Driving into the sunrise or sunset and the glare hits the windshield. All of a sudden, you can't see due to the sun's glare. How do you react? There are effective ways to handle this driving hazard. Our driving experts here at Jeff Smith Kia offer these tips to keep you safe.

Start with a few preventative measures. Keep your windshield clean inside and out. A dirty windshield gives off more glare. Periodically check your windshield for cracks and pitting, both of which make glare worse. Don't store anything on your dashboard. White papers and other reflective surfaces intensify glare.

When driving into glare, put down your sun visor. This will block the sun to some extent. Also, invest in a good pair of polarized sunglasses to protect your eyes. Keep your car further back from the car ahead. Let us handle all of your car needs.
